This 3.8V, 4200mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the EB-BT355ABA cell in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (SM-T350, SM-P350). It restores power to the 8-inch Android tablet when the original cell has degraded, swollen, or stopped holding a usable charge. Capacity matches the factory spec at 15.96Wh.
- SM-T350 and SM-P350 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits the full production run of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 across both Wi-Fi and LTE variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SM-T350. The BMS accepted the charge profile without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference window against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a swap.
Galaxy Tab A 8.0 shutting down between 15–25% remaining
This happens because the display and Wi-Fi radio draw simultaneously during streaming or browsing, which creates a combined load spike the fuel gauge IC cannot anticipate accurately. The voltage drops sharply under that load — faster than the reported percentage suggests — and the BMS triggers a protective cutoff before the displayed figure reaches zero. It is more common with a new cell because the fuel gauge is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% recalibrates the reference and typically resolves the early shutdown.
Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on SM-T350
The SM-T350 uses Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging protocol, which requires the charge IC and the battery's BMS to complete a successful handshake before the charger steps up to higher voltage. On a freshly installed cell, this negotiation sometimes fails on the first charge cycle because the BMS has no prior session data. Use the original Samsung charger — not a third-party USB-C adapter — and allow the first charge to complete fully without interruption. Fast charge availability typically restores from the second cycle onward once the handshake has been accepted.
