Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT561ABE)
This is a 3.8V, 5000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6-inch tablet. It fits SM-T560, SM-T561, SM-T565, and the Galaxy Tab E Nook Edition 9.6. Use it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the tablet won't power on at all.
- SM-T560, SM-T561, SM-T565, and Nook Edition compatibility: All four models share the same 3.8V cell format, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake. The BMS firmware on each accepts the same voltage thresholds, so one cell covers the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on an SM-T560 unit. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, charge termination triggered at the correct cutoff voltage, and the protection circuit responded normally to load fluctuations from the display and WiFi radio together.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: The Galaxy Tab E uses a coulomb-counter IC that was calibrated to your original cell. After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the IC against the new cell capacity and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear straight after a swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. It maps the new cell's voltage curve incorrectly and triggers a low-voltage shutdown well before the cell is actually empty. The combined load of the 9.6-inch display and active WiFi causes a voltage sag that the miscalibrated IC reads as a critical low. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and eliminates early shutdowns.
Fast charging not available after swapping the SM-T560 battery
The Galaxy Tab E's charge controller uses a negotiation cycle on the first accepted charge to confirm cell parameters before enabling higher charge rates. If the tablet is power-cycled or unplugged repeatedly during the first charge, that negotiation fails and the device falls back to standard 5V charging only. Plug the tablet in with the screen off and leave it undisturbed through a complete charge cycle. After that first uninterrupted session, fast charge availability restores to normal.
