Samsung SS7550 / SS7555 / SSR200 — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DJ96-00142A)
This 18.5V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part DJ96-00142A and DJ96-00142B. It fits the Samsung SS7550, SS7555, SS7550m, and SSR200 cordless vacuum cleaners. Same voltage rail, same form factor, same BMS connector as the original pack.
- SS7550 / SS7555 / SSR200 platform fit: These models share a common 18.5V battery bay and BMS handshake protocol. The cell arrangement and connector pinout are identical across the range, so one pack covers all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the SS7550's motor controller under full suction load. The BMS held the 18.5V rail steady during peak draw and triggered protection correctly at the low-voltage threshold without nuisance trips.
- Dock charging discipline for SS7550-series vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock contact on these models applies a trickle charge that accelerates capacity fade over weeks. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The SS7550 motor controller reduces power when cell voltage sags under load, even if the indicator still shows charge remaining. A partially blocked filter increases airflow restriction, forcing the motor to draw above its rated current. That elevated draw pulls cell voltage down faster than the indicator logic expects. Clear the filter and check that the dust bin seal is intact — that alone often restores full-power runtime before any battery swap is needed.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the dust bin is full or the filter is clogged, restricted airflow causes the motor to sustain a current draw that exceeds the pack's overcurrent threshold. The BMS disconnects the cell, the vacuum stops, and the pack resets once the draw drops. Empty the bin, clean the filter, then restart — if the cutout stops, the battery is fine. If it continues on a clean filter with a new pack, check the inlet nozzle for a partial blockage.
