Battery percentage jumping around after fitting the PPSB0606B
The YP-YH7 estimates charge level by mapping resting voltage to a percentage table calibrated to the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve, so the indicator can read 80% one moment and drop to 40% the next. This settles after two or three full charge and discharge cycles, which lets the firmware re-anchor its voltage thresholds to the new cell. Run the player down until it shuts off automatically, then charge fully — repeat twice and the percentage display stabilises.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty
The audio amplifier in the YP-YH7 draws a short current spike when driving headphones at higher volumes. Near the end of discharge, cell voltage sags under that load and briefly dips below the amplifier's minimum supply voltage, causing the audio to cut or the player to reset. The battery indicator is reading resting voltage, which looks fine — it's the loaded voltage that's the problem. If this happens on a new cell, check that the connector is fully seated; a loose pin adds resistance and worsens voltage sag under load.
