Why the SPV2706 won't complete a full movie on a new battery
The SPV2706 draws from three sources at once — disc motor, display backlight, and audio amplifier. At disc spin-up, the motor pulls a short current spike that can temporarily sag cell voltage below what a deeply discharged or storage-state battery can sustain. If the pack ships at storage voltage (typically around 3.7V per cell), the player may cut off before the disc even reaches play speed. A full charge before first use resolves this. Once fully charged, the 1900mAh capacity supports extended playback without voltage sag during normal motor operation.
Screen dimming mid-movie with no warning
When cell voltage drops below a threshold — typically around 3.2V per cell under load — the SPV display driver reduces backlight brightness to lower current draw and protect the cell. This is not a screen fault; it is the player's low-voltage response. If dimming starts earlier in playback than expected, the original battery's capacity has degraded and it can no longer sustain the full display load through a complete film. Fit the replacement GSP613762 pack, charge to 100%, and the display will hold full brightness through a normal viewing session.
