This 7.2V 3800mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original pack in the Sencor SPV7903T and SPV-7903T portable DVD players. It restores mobile viewing capability when the original cell has degraded through repeated charge cycles. Capacity is 3800mAh (27.36Wh), matching the OEM specification.
- SPV7903T and SPV-7903T compatibility: Both model variants use the same 7.2V two-cell lithium-polymer configuration and share the same connector and BMS handshake protocol, so a single pack covers both SKUs.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the SPV7903T platform. The BMS responded correctly to both disc motor spin-up current peaks and sustained display draw without triggering false cutoff.
- Thermal load during combined use: Avoid running the SPV7903T on battery while charging simultaneously. The disc motor, backlight, and charging current together can raise cell temperature enough to trigger the thermal protection circuit and reduce available output.
Disc not spinning after fitting a new battery
A freshly shipped lithium-polymer cell typically arrives at storage voltage — around 3.7V to 3.8V per cell, which puts the pack near 7.4V to 7.6V total. The SPV7903T disc motor draws a short but sharp current spike at spin-up. At storage voltage, the BMS may interpret that spike as an overload and cut output before the disc reaches operating speed. Charge the pack fully to 8.4V before the first use and the spin-up current draw will clear the BMS threshold without triggering a cutoff.
Screen dimming mid-movie even on a new pack
The SPV7903T backlight driver monitors the supply rail and steps down brightness when voltage sags below a set threshold. Running the disc motor, audio output, and backlight simultaneously creates sustained draw that can pull the pack voltage down enough to trigger the dimming circuit — even on a new cell. Check that the battery contacts on the device are clean and making full contact; a partial connection adds resistance that worsens sag. If contacts are clean and dimming persists, the issue is usually cumulative draw rather than a faulty pack — reduce screen brightness one step to lower total current demand.
