Disc not spinning on the SPV8011T after battery swap
The disc motor on the SPV8011T draws a short but sharp current spike at startup — significantly higher than the steady-state draw during playback. If the replacement cell arrives at storage voltage and you load a disc immediately, available cell voltage may drop below the motor controller's minimum threshold during that spin-up surge. The player responds by stopping the disc or showing a read error rather than a low-battery warning. Charge the battery fully before first use — the cell needs to be above approximately 8.0V combined pack voltage before the motor controller will sustain spin-up reliably.

The SPV8011T display driver monitors pack voltage and reduces backlight brightness when voltage sags under combined disc and display load. This can happen even with a new cell if the player is also charging simultaneously — charging current plus disc motor plus backlight is the highest draw state the battery sees. Avoid running the player on battery while connected to the charger once the cell is at partial charge. If dimming appears during normal playback only, check that the replacement cell is making firm contact in the bay — a loose fit causes voltage sag at the connector rather than inside the cell itself.
