Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. Higher current draw causes voltage to sag at the cell terminals, and the motor loses speed even though the battery still shows charge. The BMS reads this as normal load, so no warning triggers. Clear the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery was not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — by a blockage or a clogged filter — the motor spikes current trying to maintain RPM, and the BMS cuts power to protect the cell. The pack resets after a brief rest, which is why the vacuum starts again a minute later. Remove the blockage or clean the filter, then restart. If the cutout repeats on a clear filter, check that cell voltage sits above 17V under load before assuming the battery has failed.
