Shark HX100 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XFBTHX100-4S1P)
This is a 14.4V Li-ion battery rated at 2000mAh (28.8Wh), built to fit the Shark HX100, HX100UKT, and StainForce Cordless Stain-Destroying Spot Cleaner. It replaces OEM part XFBTHX100-4S1P directly. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds a useful charge.
- HX100 and HX100UKT compatibility: Both the HX100 and HX100UKT run the same 14.4V four-cell series configuration and share the identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. One battery pack covers both units.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through discharge under motor load on the HX100 platform. The BMS held cell balance across the 4S arrangement and executed clean cutoff at the low-voltage threshold without tripping overcurrent protection under normal suction draw.
- Dock charging practice for the HX100: Do not leave the HX100 sitting on the dock permanently between uses. Continuous trickle charge on Li-ion cells accelerates capacity fade. Charge fully, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
The HX100 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a clogged filter or blocked nozzle pushes the draw well above the rated baseline. The battery's BMS reads this sustained high-current demand as a stress condition and begins throttling output voltage before the charge indicator registers low. The result is weaker suction even though the battery still shows capacity. Clean the filter and clear the nozzle pathway first, then re-test suction — if it recovers fully, the battery is not the fault.
Motor cuts out during use then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a fault with the motor itself. When suction is sustained against a blockage or heavily loaded carpet, current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the pack shuts output to protect the cells. After a brief cooling interval the BMS resets and power returns. Check the filter and brush roll for restrictions before assuming the battery is failing — if the cutout stops after clearing the blockage, the protection circuit worked as intended. If cutouts persist on a clear pathway, check cell voltage under load; it should not drop below 12V during normal operation.
