Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
On the SV75 platform, suction drops noticeably before the battery light signals low when the filter is partially blocked. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw higher current than rated, which causes voltage to sag under load even though cell capacity remains. The battery reads fine at rest, but under the load of a clogged filter it cannot hold the voltage the motor needs. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction returns to full strength after that, the battery is not the fault.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage — carpet pile, a sock caught at the inlet, or a full dust cup — current spikes past the cell's rated draw and the protection circuit opens. The motor stops, the cell cools, and the circuit resets, which is why the vacuum comes back on its own after a short pause. Clear the blockage, empty the dust cup, and check the inlet path before running it again. If trips continue with a clear path, measure resting voltage — a healthy 15.6V Ni-MH pack should read between 16V and 17V off charge.
