Shark WV251 Replacement Battery - Replaces XSBT251

$38.01In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Shark WV251, WV250 WANDVAC handheld vacuums; replaces OEM part numbers XSBT251, XSBT251EU, XSBT250, XSBT250J.
  • 10.8V lithium-ion at 2000mAh delivers consistent motor voltage across full cleaning cycles without voltage sag under carpet load.
  • Slides vertically into the WV251 battery slot with a single click-lock tab; connector orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
  • We bench-tested this cell in a WV251 under sustained blockage — the BMS held steady through motor draw spikes without nuisance cutoff.
  • Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously; trickle charge damage reduces capacity faster than charge-when-depleted cycles.

About this replacement

Shark WV251 / WV250 WANDVAC — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XSBT251)

This is a 10.8V, 2000mAh (21.6Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Shark WANDVAC handheld vacuum range. It fits the WV251, WV251UK, and WV250 WANDVAC models and replaces OEM part numbers XSBT251, XSBT251EU, XSBT250, and XSBT250J. The battery slots into the same housing as the original and connects to the same BMS circuit.

  • WV250 and WV251 series compatibility: Both the WV250 and WV251 variants share the same 10.8V battery rail, connector, and BMS handshake. The cell pack dimensions are identical across the series — 144.22 x 46.50 x 42.50mm — so a single replacement covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell pack through full charge-discharge cycles on a WV251 unit. The BMS responded correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and peak draw during motor start, with no false overcurrent trips on clean filters.
  • Dock charging on WANDVAC models: Do not leave the WANDVAC sitting on the charging dock between every use. These motors draw start-up current in short repeated bursts, and cells kept at 100% via continuous trickle charge lose usable capacity faster than cells cycled properly. Charge fully, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the WV251

This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually caused by a partially blocked filter, not a failing battery. The BMS reads that sustained high draw as a voltage sag event and begins throttling motor output before the charge indicator drops. Clean or replace the filter first. If suction recovers, the battery is not the issue. If the vacuum still throttles early on a clean filter, the cell pack has likely degraded below usable capacity and replacement is the correct fix.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a power failure. When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or hair wrapped around the inlet — the motor labours against the restriction and current spikes above the BMS trip threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit, the motor stops, and after a brief cooldown it resets and allows restart. Clear the blockage at the nozzle or filter before assuming the battery is at fault. If trips continue on an unobstructed vacuum, check cell voltage under load — a healthy pack should hold above 9.5V during motor start.
