This 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell is the backup power source for the Siemens Sintony IC60-W-10, Zentrale IC60, and IC60 central alarm control panels. When mains power drops, this battery keeps the panel live, maintains wireless sensor communication, and holds system programming. Capacity is 2000mAh (24Wh) — matched to the original A5Q00020293 specification.
- IC60 platform fit: The IC60-W-10, Zentrale IC60, and IC60 central share the same 12V battery bay, connector orientation, and BMS charge circuit. One cell covers all three variants without any wiring modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the IC60 platform. The panel BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held float charge correctly, and the low-battery indicator cleared within 36 hours of installation.
- Post-installation float charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The IC60 BMS needs 24–48 hours at float charge before it reports an accurate battery status. Testing early can trigger a false low-battery alert and cause unnecessary callbacks.
Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement
If the IC60 loses its zone programming or user codes during a mains outage, the replacement cell has not yet been accepted by the BMS. The panel requires a full conditioning period — typically 48 hours on mains power — before the backup battery is trusted to sustain memory and logic circuits under load. Installing the battery and immediately cutting mains power will expose this gap. Allow the full 48-hour period on float charge before testing backup operation.
Siren not sounding on test after fitting a new backup cell
New cells installed in the IC60 can cause the panel to suppress siren output during the initial charge stabilisation window. The panel sees the battery voltage climbing through its acceptance curve and delays high-current outputs like sirens for 30–60 seconds as a protective measure. This is not a wiring fault or a faulty cell. Run the test again after the battery has been on float charge for at least 24 hours and the siren will trigger normally at the panel's rated output voltage.
