Socket Mobile CHS 7Qi Replacement Battery - Replaces AC4059-1479

$20.09In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Socket Mobile CHS 7Qi, CHS 7X, CHS 7Xi, CHS 7XRx barcode scanners; replaces OEM part AC4059-1479.
  • 3.7V 600mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 2.22Wh — sufficient for a full shift of mixed scanning and wireless polling in retail pick-and-pack workflows.
  • Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on scanner housing and pack label.
  • We bench-tested this cell in a CHS 7Qi cradle dock — BMS accepted handshake on first insert, no fault light, voltage ramped clean.
  • After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

About this replacement

Socket Mobile CHS 7Qi / 7X / 7Xi Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AC4059-1479)

This 3.7V 600mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number AC4059-1479 in the Socket Mobile CHS 7Qi, CHS 7X, CHS 7Xi, and CHS 7XRx handheld barcode scanners. These are compact wireless scanners used in retail and inventory environments. The cell measures 43.47 × 19.64 × 9.30mm and drops directly into the original battery bay.

  • CHS 7 Series compatibility: The 7Qi, 7X, 7Xi, and 7XRx share the same battery form factor, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits the full row because the voltage rail and physical housing are identical across those variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack in a CHS 7Qi unit and monitored the BMS through scan trigger events and Bluetooth polling cycles. The protection circuit held within spec under combined radio and imager inrush without tripping prematurely.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before taking it onto the floor. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS cutoff events during the first pick-and-pack shift.

Why the CHS 7Qi drops Bluetooth during rapid scan bursts

The CHS 7Qi fires its imager and maintains a Bluetooth polling connection simultaneously. During a rapid scan burst, both draw current at the same moment. On a degraded or low cell, the combined inrush pulls the voltage below the BMS threshold, which drops the radio stack to protect the cell. The connection resumes once voltage recovers, but the host system logs it as a disconnect. A fresh, fully charged cell keeps the voltage rail stable enough to handle both loads without the BMS intervening.

Cradle showing a charging error immediately after fitting a new pack

This usually points to contact resistance between the battery terminals and the dock's charge pins, not a fault with the cell itself. Oxidation or debris on either the pack contacts or the cradle pins raises resistance enough that the charger reads an abnormal load and flags an error. Wipe the battery contacts and cradle pins with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and check that the charge indicator activates within 30 seconds. If the error persists after reseating, check cradle pin spring tension — pins should sit proud of the housing and apply firm pressure at 3.7V nominal.
