Socket Mobile D700 Replacement Battery - Replaces AC4204-2430

$23.18In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Socket Mobile D700, D730, D740, D750 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part numbers AC4204-2430, AC4204-2431, AC4204-2432, and 1610-00022.
  • 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion cell delivers 5.92Wh — sufficient for full-shift scanning in retail and logistics without mid-shift swaps.
  • Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion on all D-series models.
  • We bench-tested this cell in a D730 under continuous scan bursts; BMS accepted the charge handshake cleanly and held voltage stable through 200+ rapid triggers.
  • After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a complete charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger draws peak current when the cell is near minimum, and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS shutdowns on the first shift.

About this replacement

Socket Mobile D700 / D730 / D740 / D750 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AC4204-2430)

This 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Socket Mobile D700, D730, D740, and D750 handheld barcode scanners. These scanners are used across retail, logistics, and inventory environments where continuous scanning across a full shift is expected. Dimensions are 53.00 × 18.50 × 18.50mm — confirm before ordering if your unit has been revised.

  • D700 series compatibility: The D700, D730, D740, and D750 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the entire platform without firmware or hardware modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences combined with active Bluetooth polling. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly and did not trip under combined radio-plus-trigger inrush loads.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing the new pack, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a complete charge cycle before use. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge — a fully topped cell prevents false BMS cutoffs during the first pick-and-pack run.

Cradle showing a charging error on a freshly installed pack

Socket Mobile cradles use contact resistance sensing during the charge handshake. If the gold contacts on the battery or cradle bay have oxidation or residue from handling, the dock can flag a charging fault even when the cell itself is fine. Wipe the battery contacts and cradle pads with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. The charging indicator should switch to active within 10 seconds of correct seating.

Scanner drops Bluetooth connection during fast scan bursts

Rapid scanning combines two simultaneous current draws — the imager or laser firing and the Bluetooth radio transmitting scan data. On a degraded or partially charged cell, the combined inrush pulls the cell voltage below the BMS low-voltage threshold momentarily, causing the radio stack to reset. This shows up as a dropped connection rather than a power-off event, which makes it easy to misread as a wireless or host issue. Charge the pack to full before a high-volume shift and verify resting voltage is at or above 3.7V before loading the scanner into a workflow.
