This is a 3.7V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Somno Medics SomnoScreen type SSC051 portable sleep apnea screening device. It replaces OEM part number 110686-O. The SomnoScreen SSC051 is a diagnostic monitor used by clinicians and patients during extended overnight sleep studies.
- SSC051 platform fit: The SSC051 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture with a BMS handshake at power-on. This cell matches the voltage rail and connector pinout for that handshake to complete correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the SSC051 platform. The BMS acknowledged the cell, passed self-test, and charge termination triggered at the correct cutoff voltage.
- Post-swap startup protocol: After installing this battery, let the SomnoScreen complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window causes a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge after a swap
On the first charge cycle, the SSC051's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an unrecognised cell. This is normal behaviour — the device is measuring internal resistance before committing to a full top-up. The indicator typically stalls between 90–98% on the first pass. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates; subsequent charges reach 100%.
Device fails self-test and flags a battery fault after swap
The SSC051 runs a BMS learn cycle at first use. A new cell that hasn't completed one full charge-discharge pass carries no cycle history, and the device interprets this as a fault condition. This is not a defective battery — it is an uninitialised cell. Charge to full, run the device until it powers down on low battery, then recharge fully. After that single cycle, the self-test clears and the battery status reads correctly.
