Battery percentage jumping after cell swap in the X Drive
After fitting a new cell, the X Drive's charge indicator can read 40%, then jump to 80%, then drop back — all within a few minutes. This happens because the device's voltage-threshold indicator was calibrated to the old, degraded cell's discharge curve. The new cell has a flatter mid-range voltage curve, which confuses the lookup table the player uses to estimate charge state. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the indicator will settle against the new cell's actual curve.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator reads empty
The X Drive's audio amplifier draws a sharp current spike at higher volume levels. At the tail end of a discharge cycle, cell voltage sags under that load and can briefly dip below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically 6.0V for a 7.4V two-cell pack. The BMS shuts the output to protect the cells, even though the resting voltage would read higher a moment later. If this is happening, reduce playback volume and confirm resting voltage is above 6.8V before starting a session.
