This is a 7.4V, 4400mAh Li-ion replacement for the Sony NP-FH120 battery pack. It fits the DCR-DVD908E and a wide range of Sony DVD and HD camcorders including the DCR-HC47, HDR-HC7E, and DCR-SR220D. The NP-FH120 slot accepts this cell directly — no adapters required.

The Info-Lithium system maps its percentage display to the cell's discharge curve during that first cycle. Skipping it causes erratic battery-remaining readouts throughout the cell's life.
Why the DCR-DVD908E shows a lower battery level than expected mid-recording
The DCR-DVD908E uses Sony's Info-Lithium system to estimate remaining charge by tracking current draw over time. A new replacement cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than the original, which throws off the initial calibration. The camera's percentage display can read 40% and drop to zero without warning until the system re-maps to the new cell. One full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body corrects this — after that, the indicator tracks accurately.
Camcorder cuts to standby during DVD write or long take — not a dead battery
The DVD808E's optical drive and video processor pull current simultaneously during disc finalisation or extended takes. If the cell voltage sags below roughly 6.4V under that combined load, the BMS triggers a protective shutdown before the indicator shows empty. This is more common at the end of a cell's charge, not a fault. Let the battery reach a full charge before a long shoot, and the sag stays within the BMS window.
