This 3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Sony PlayStation Vita handheld console. It fits the PCH-1001 and PCH-1006 hardware revisions, along with other first-generation PS Vita models. Cross-references OEM part numbers SP65M, 4-297-658-01, and PA-VT65.

PS Vita fuel gauge jumping or reading wrong after a cell swap
The PS Vita uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state against a stored discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC still holds the old cell's curve in memory, so the percentage display drifts or jumps as the new cell's actual voltage no longer matches the stored model. This corrects itself over three to five full discharge-and-charge cycles as the IC rewrites its reference data. Do not judge the battery's condition until at least three cycles are complete.
PS Vita not charging the replacement cell at full rate
The charge IC on first-generation PS Vita hardware applies a reduced current limit when it detects a cell voltage outside its expected window — a common state when a new lithium-polymer cell arrives slightly below storage voltage. This is a built-in protection behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the console. The charge rate steps up to full after the first complete charge cycle once the cell voltage sits within the IC's normal operating range. Confirm the charge indicator light is active and allow the first cycle to complete before drawing any conclusions.
