Why the Xperia Touch G1109 shuts off before the battery indicator reaches empty
The G1109's lamp module requires a minimum supply voltage to sustain its output. That threshold sits higher than the BMS low-cell cutoff voltage. When the pack voltage drops to the lamp's minimum floor under load — typically around 9.0V on a degraded or heavily drawn cell — the projector cuts power to protect the lamp, even if the on-screen battery indicator still shows charge remaining. This is a load-dependent shutdown, not a faulty battery. Switching to eco lamp mode lowers current draw and keeps cell voltage above that floor for longer.

The internal charger in the G1109 checks cell voltage before it begins a charge cycle. If the pack has dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell — common in batteries that have sat unused for months — the charger enters a trickle pre-charge phase that can last 30–60 minutes before normal charge current resumes. During this phase the charging indicator is active but the percentage display stays flat. Leave the unit plugged in and do not interrupt the session. If percentage remains static beyond 90 minutes, check that the USB-C input is delivering full rated voltage — a weak charger or damaged cable limits the input and stalls the cycle.
