Spypoint CELL-LINK / LINK-MICRO Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LIT-10)
This is a 3.7V 10500mAh Li-ion replacement for the original Spypoint LIT-10 battery. It fits the CELL-LINK, LINK-MICRO, LINK-MICRO-LTE, and LINK-MICRO-S-LTE cellular transmitter modules. Swap it when your unit stops sending images or shows a low-battery alert in the Spypoint app.
- CELL-LINK and LINK-MICRO compatibility: These four models share the same 3.7V battery bay and LIT-10 connector footprint. The BMS handshake is identical across the range, so one cell covers all four units without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge sequences on the CELL-LINK transmitter. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, held voltage above 3.5V under cellular transmission load, and tripped cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold without fault codes.
- Field deployment tip — cold-weather starts: Li-ion cells lose 15–25% usable capacity at 0°C and up to 40% at −20°C. Before mounting the unit in freezing conditions, keep the battery in an inner pocket until the moment of installation. A warm cell going into a cold housing holds charge far longer than one pre-installed the night before.
Why the CELL-LINK transmits fewer images per charge in winter
Cold temperatures slow the electrochemical reactions inside the Li-ion cell, reducing the charge carriers available during each cellular transmission burst. The CELL-LINK draws a concentrated spike of current each time it connects to the network to push an image — that spike hits harder against a cold, reduced-capacity cell. The result is steeper voltage sag per transmission cycle, which the BMS reads as a lower state of charge than the cell actually holds at room temperature. Keeping the unit in an insulated housing or a weatherproof box with hand warmers extends usable field life significantly through winter.
Unit not powering on after sitting in a cold blind all winter
If the CELL-LINK was left installed through several weeks of freezing temperatures, the battery may have self-discharged below the BMS minimum boot voltage — typically around 2.5V for this cell chemistry. At that point the BMS locks the cell out to prevent damage, and the unit will not respond to the power button. Bring the battery indoors to room temperature for two hours, then connect it to a charger rated for 3.7V Li-ion. If the charger detects the cell and begins a recovery charge, let it complete a full cycle before reinstalling. Check the cell voltage with a multimeter — anything above 2.5V should recover; below that, replace the cell.
