Teufel MOTIV GO VOICE — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650-2S2P)
This is a 7.4V 5200mAh (38.48Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Teufel MOTIV GO VOICE portable Bluetooth speaker. It slots into the same position as the original pack and connects to the same BMS circuitry. If your MOTIV GO VOICE powers off earlier than it used to or stops charging fully, this is the direct swap.
- MOTIV GO VOICE fit: The 2S2P cell arrangement — two 18650 cells in series, two in parallel — matches the original voltage rail and pack dimensions (134.10 × 37.80 × 19.00mm). The BMS handshake on this model expects exactly 7.4V nominal; a different voltage pack will cause the charge controller to reject the pack entirely.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the pack through full charge and discharge on the MOTIV GO VOICE's own charge controller. The BMS handled cell balancing correctly across both parallel pairs and tripped the expected low-voltage cutoff without allowing the cells to drop below safe floor voltage.
- Fuel gauge reset after swap: After fitting this battery, run the speaker down to below 20% before recharging fully — at least once in the first week. The MOTIV GO VOICE calibrates its fuel gauge against a full discharge cycle. Skipping this leaves the indicator reading several percentage points off, which causes unexpected shutdowns at what looks like 15–20% remaining.
Why the MOTIV GO VOICE shuts off mid-track at high volume
At maximum volume, the amplifier draws a large current spike on every bass transient. A degraded or partially discharged pack sags under that combined amp-plus-radio draw, dropping below the BMS's cutoff threshold for a fraction of a second. The protection circuit reads that as an unsafe low-voltage event and cuts power. A fresh pack with full capacity holds the voltage rail steady through those spikes. If shutdowns only happen at high volume and not at moderate levels, the pack is the cause — not the amplifier.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
This happens when the cells have aged enough that internal resistance is high but the fuel gauge still reads 25–30% remaining. Under amplifier load, the voltage sags below the clean-audio threshold before the indicator catches up. The amplifier clips because the supply voltage is insufficient, producing audible distortion that sounds like a faulty speaker driver. Check the resting voltage of the pack: if it reads below 7.0V at what the indicator shows as 20–25%, the cells are degraded and the pack needs replacing.
