Audio distortion on the Rockster XS before the battery indicator reaches empty
The Rockster XS amplifier stage needs a stable 7.4V rail to deliver clean output. As an aged or cold cell sags under load, voltage dips below the amplifier's operating floor before the battery gauge registers critical. The result is clipping distortion — the audio breaks up even though the LED still shows charge remaining. Replacing the pack resolves this once the new cell holds voltage above 7.0V under full amplifier draw.
Rockster XS not waking from USB charge after sitting unused for weeks
Li-ion cells left discharged for extended periods can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell, or 5V for this 2S pack. At that point the charger sees the battery as a fault condition and refuses to initiate a charge cycle. Connect the speaker to a USB source and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any buttons — some chargers will trickle enough current to bring the cell back above the acceptance threshold. If the LED does not respond at all after 30 minutes, the original cell has likely reached an unrecoverable discharge state and the pack needs replacement.
