About this replacement

TomTom Go 7000 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (360103150)

This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the TomTom Go 7000 and Go 7000 HD GPS navigators. It fits the compact battery bay directly and restores power to the navigation display, GPS receiver, and traffic module. Capacity matches the OEM specification at 4.44Wh.

  • Go 7000 and Go 7000 HD compatibility: Both variants use the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell and share an identical battery bay footprint at 62 x 37 x 5mm. The charge circuit in each unit accepts this cell without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Go 7000 charge controller and confirmed BMS cutoff at the correct high-voltage threshold. The unit accepted charge from cold and reached full capacity within the expected window.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After a full power interruption, the Go 7000 loses its ephemeris data and runs a cold start. Power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view and leave it stationary for up to 10 minutes to complete the first satellite fix. Subsequent warm starts will lock significantly faster.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the Go 7000

When the Go 7000 cell drops below roughly 3.5V under load, the unit reduces power to the GPS receiver to extend operation. This shows up as position drift or delayed route recalculation — not a satellite signal problem. A degraded original battery that sags quickly under the combined draw of the display and receiver will trigger this earlier than expected. Fitting a fresh cell at full capacity keeps the receiver running at full sensitivity throughout the journey.

Go 7000 shutting off without a low-battery warning

The on-screen battery indicator in the Go 7000 reads state-of-charge from a voltage curve calibrated to a healthy cell. A degraded or aged cell has a flatter discharge curve and drops voltage sharply at the end of its cycle — the device hits the hardware cutoff threshold before the visual indicator reaches the warning zone. This is not a firmware fault. After fitting a new cell, run two full charge and discharge cycles on active navigation to allow the indicator to re-calibrate against the cell's actual voltage curve. Target a resting voltage of 4.18–4.20V after a full charge to confirm the new cell is within spec.
