This happens when the battery indicator is no longer calibrated to the actual cell — the on-screen percentage shows two bars, then the unit cuts off instantly. The root cause is that the fuel gauge in the TomTom One uses a stored discharge curve that drifts once the original cell ages or is replaced. To recalibrate, run two full discharge-to-shutdown cycles followed by a full charge to 4.2V without interruption. After two cycles the indicator aligns to the new cell and the low-battery warning reappears at the correct threshold.
