This is a 10.8V, 4400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Toshiba Tecra 8000 notebook. It replaces OEM part numbers PA2510, PA2510U, PA2510UR, and PA3010U-1BAR. The battery slots into the Tecra 8000 bay and connects to the system board via the original multi-pin connector.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The Tecra 8000 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM carries factory default values that don't match the laptop's charge history, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. This is a data mismatch, not a faulty battery. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough cycle data to update its health register correctly.
Tecra 8000 shutting down unexpectedly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under combined CPU and display load before the gauge reaches 0%, triggering an abrupt shutdown rather than a graceful hibernate. The fix is the same calibration cycle — drain fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge straight to 100%. After two full cycles the fuel gauge IC re-maps its curve against the new cell and the shutdowns stop. Confirm the cell has reached at least 12.5V on the charger before disconnecting during the first calibration charge.
