TOTO DHE812 / Eco EFV Series — 3V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (Flush-2)
This is a 3V, 2200mAh lithium-manganese dioxide battery for the TOTO DHE812 and compatible automatic flush valve series. It powers the infrared sensor and solenoid valve that triggers touchless flushing. Fits DHE812, Eco EFV, SHX0134, TEL3GCCN-10, and over 29 additional TOTO automatic flusher models sharing the Flush-2 specification.
- DHE812 and Eco EFV platform compatibility: These models share the same 3V power rail, solenoid activation threshold, and Flush-2 battery housing. The sensor controller draws consistent low current during standby and a short burst through the solenoid on each activation — the Li-MnO2 chemistry handles this pulse profile without voltage sag.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell against the solenoid activation cycle on a DHE812 unit. The BMS held voltage above the 2.6V solenoid minimum across repeated flush cycles, and the sensor accepted the new cell without any manual reset required.
- Post-install sensor confirmation: After seating the new battery, wave a hand slowly in front of the sensor three times. This triggers the self-test flush sequence and confirms the unit has accepted the new cell. If the flush does not fire, recheck polarity — the Flush-2 cell is directional and the housing gives little tactile resistance when seated backwards.
Why the DHE812 stops flushing mid-installation cycle
The DHE812 solenoid requires a minimum of approximately 2.6V to open fully. Alkaline or carbon-zinc cells of similar size drop below this threshold under the solenoid's pulse load far earlier than their rated capacity suggests. Li-MnO2 chemistry maintains a flat discharge curve at 3V nominal, which keeps the solenoid firing consistently through the battery's service life. Mixing cell types or using a partially discharged spare causes the solenoid to click but not open — replacing with a fresh, correct-spec Li-MnO2 cell resolves this immediately.
Flusher activating randomly after battery swap
Random activation after a battery change usually means the sensor has not completed its re-calibration cycle. When the old battery is removed, the sensor loses its ambient baseline reading. On power-up with the new cell, if someone walks past during the first few seconds, the unit captures movement as its new baseline and begins misfiring. Power cycle the unit — remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, reseat it, then keep the sensor zone clear for 30 seconds while it sets its baseline. Phantom flushes stop once calibration completes.
