This 7.4V 3600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the TRIXELL EZ DR and 3543PR portable digital radiography detectors. It slots into the wireless detector unit that operates during X-ray examinations. Capacity is rated at 26.64Wh and matches the voltage rail these detectors require for cordless clinical use.
- EZ DR and 3543PR compatibility: Both models share the same 7.4V battery platform, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell format — OEM part 2ICP5/38/50-4 — serves both units without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the EZ DR platform. The BMS completed handshake without fault codes, and the charge IC accepted the cell without flagging a chemistry mismatch.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the detector to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The EZ DR runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the EZ DR flags a battery fault on the first charge cycle
The EZ DR's charge IC applies conservative current limits when it encounters a new cell with no charge history. The BMS compares internal resistance and voltage response against stored OEM thresholds. A fresh cell's resting voltage may sit just outside that window until it completes one full charge-discharge cycle. Run one complete cycle before placing the unit in clinical rotation — after that, the BMS learns the cell and the fault clears.
Detector will not power on after the battery sat unused in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the EZ DR's BMS has a hard undervoltage cutoff — typically around 2.5V per cell. If the pack drops below that threshold, the BMS locks out to protect the cells and the detector will not respond to the power button. Connect the battery to the charger for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge LED activates and voltage climbs above 3.0V per cell, the BMS will re-initialise and normal startup will resume.
