This 7.4V, 1100mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM TDM-BAT20 in the TSC TDM-20 mobile thermal printer. It powers the thermal print head, paper feed motor, and wireless radio on a single cell pack. Retail, logistics, and field teams use the TDM-20 for on-the-go label and receipt printing where mains power is not available.

The TDM-20 feed motor calibrates torque draw against the BMS current profile on initial cycles — skipping this step can cause the printer to misread paper position on the first job.
Why the TDM-20 thermal head produces faded output at partial charge
The thermal print head in the TDM-20 requires stable voltage to reach consistent platen temperature across the full print width. When battery voltage sags — typically below 6.8V under load — the head temperature drops mid-line, producing faded or streaky output rather than a full cutoff. This is not a head fault. It is a voltage delivery issue. Fitting a fresh cell and charging to 8.2V before printing resolves it.
TDM-20 disconnecting from Bluetooth mid-job
The TDM-20 wireless radio draws a short current spike each time it transmits a data packet. At low battery charge, that spike causes a momentary voltage sag the BMS reads as an overload event and briefly throttles output. The printer drops the connection and the host app loses the device. This is not a pairing fault or an app bug. Charge the battery above 7.8V before starting a wireless print job to keep the radio stable through the transmission cycle.
