Uniphy 409 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110243-X)
This is a 12V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Uniphy 409 medical device. It replaces OEM part number 110243-X. The battery restores power to Uniphy 409 units where the original cell has aged past usable capacity.
- Uniphy 409 platform fit: The 110243-X form factor is specific to the Uniphy 409 chassis — the connector orientation, cell geometry (218.80 × 46.50 × 24.30mm), and 12V nominal voltage match the device's internal power rail and BMS handshake requirements.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, standby, and load discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and voltage held stable across the load profile throughout the first three cycles.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the Uniphy 409 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device BMS runs a verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-cycle can trigger a persistent battery fault that won't clear until the next complete reboot.
Why the Uniphy 409 flags a battery fault on the first boot after a cell swap
Medical device BMS firmware is calibrated to the charge profile of a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell presents a slightly different internal resistance and initial voltage signature, which some Uniphy 409 units read as out-of-spec. The BMS learn cycle needs one full charge-discharge pass to recalibrate its thresholds to the new cell. Running that first cycle before clinical use resolves the fault in most cases.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge
On the first charge, the Uniphy 409's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or previously discharged Ni-MH cell. This is normal — the IC is protecting against overcharge on an unconditioned cell. The display may stall between 85–95% before the cycle completes. Run a full discharge followed by a complete uninterrupted charge, and the indicator should reach 100% from the second cycle onward.
