URA 140130 / 140131 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (111917 / HB00090TA)
This is a 3.6V, 300mAh Ni-MH cell for the URA 140130 and 140131 emergency lighting units. It replaces the internal backup cell that powers the luminaire during mains failure. The original OEM part numbers are 111917 and HB00090TA.
- 140130 and 140131 compatibility: Both models share the same charge controller circuit, float voltage, and connector footprint — one cell covers both fittings without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a mains-failure simulation on the 140130 charge board. The BMS accepted the cell within the float window and the charge indicator advanced to green within the expected conditioning window.
- First test cycle after installation: Hold the test button for the full rated duration within 24 hours of fitting. This lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity before any scheduled compliance inspection — skipping this step risks a false fail on a duration test.

A freshly installed Ni-MH cell does not arrive at full capacity. Storage discharge means the cell typically sits at 40–60% when fitted. The charge controller on the 140130 and 140131 applies a trickle charge, but the cell needs at least one full charge-discharge cycle before it reaches rated capacity. Running a manual test before that cycle completes will almost always produce a short duration result. Allow a minimum of 24 hours on charge, then run the full test cycle.
Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation
A red or fault indicator after fitting a new cell usually means the cell voltage is outside the charge controller's float acceptance window. Cells stored for extended periods can drop below the threshold the controller expects to see on connection. The controller reads this as a fault rather than a depleted cell and holds the fault state. Leave the fitting powered for two to four hours — if the cell voltage climbs into the acceptance range the controller will exit fault mode and the indicator will advance to green.
