Urovo DT40 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HBLDT40)
This is a 3.85V, 4500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Urovo DT40 mobile computer. The DT40 is a rugged handheld barcode scanner used in retail, warehousing, and logistics environments. It slots directly into the DT40 battery bay and mates with the OEM connector and BMS communication lines.
- DT40 platform fit: The DT40 runs a single-cell 3.85V architecture with a BMS that monitors cell voltage and temperature through a dedicated data line. This pack matches that voltage rail and communicates over the same data contact, so the device recognises the pack and enables the scan trigger without error flags.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences — simultaneous imager power and wireless radio polling — and confirmed the BMS held stable across the full discharge curve without nuisance cutoffs at low state-of-charge.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum, and starting with a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during high-frequency scanning in the first few hours.

The DT40 cradle reads battery state through the dock contacts on the base of the pack. If those contacts carry oxidation or residue from the old battery, the cradle throws a charging fault even when the new pack is seated correctly. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle dock with a dry cloth before reseating. If the error clears, the pack is fine — the fault was contact resistance, not a pack defect.

During fast scan sequences, the DT40 draws current from two sources at once — the imager and the wireless radio. Combined inrush can briefly dip cell voltage enough to trigger the BMS undervoltage protection, which drops the radio connection before the imager. This is more common when the battery is below 20% state-of-charge. Keep the pack above 3.7V during high-frequency pick-and-pack shifts to avoid BMS trips on combined load spikes.
