It fits the Rollladen Antrieb, Solar Rollladen, SSL Solar Rollladen, and SSL Solar Rollladen Motor mit Stecker systems. When the existing cell loses capacity, the shutter motor becomes sluggish or stops responding entirely — this battery restores full drive function.

Why the Velux shutter drive stops mid-travel on a partially discharged cell
Ni-MH cells lose voltage sharply once capacity drops below roughly 30%. The Rollladen Antrieb motor draws peak current at the start of travel and again when the shutter hits mechanical resistance near the end stop. A weak cell sags below the motor controller's minimum operating voltage at exactly these moments, triggering a cutoff and leaving the shutter frozen mid-run. A fresh 2000mAh cell at full charge holds above 10.8V through both load spikes.
Velux app shows shutter offline immediately after battery swap
Cutting power to the drive unit drops it off the Velux Active or io-homecontrol mesh network. After inserting the new battery, the motor controller runs a network re-join sequence that takes up to 60 seconds. Do not attempt to trigger the shutter or send commands from the app during this window. If the device still shows offline after 90 seconds, press the programming button on the drive unit once — this forces a fresh mesh re-join without clearing your existing pairing.
