BladderScan 9400 not completing boot sequence on new battery
The 9400's boot sequence includes an active BMS verification step that checks cell voltage, internal resistance, and chemistry signature before allowing the unit to reach the scan-ready state. A new cell that has partially self-discharged in storage can present a voltage reading just below the BMS acceptance threshold, causing the boot to stall or loop. This is not a faulty battery — it is the device's firmware rejecting an unverified pack. Charge the battery to full on the OEM charger first, then reinsert and allow the boot sequence to run without interruption.
Charge indicator stuck below 100% on first charge after swap
The BladderScan charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first encounters a new cell, treating it as uncharacterised until one full charge-discharge cycle is logged. This means the indicator may plateau at 90–95% and stop climbing on the initial charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — charge to termination, use the device until low-battery warning activates, then recharge fully. After that cycle, the charge IC recalibrates its endpoint and the indicator will reach 100% on subsequent charges.
