Receipt printer causing voltage sag on the Nurit 3010
The Nurit 3010's thermal printer draws a sharp current spike each time it feeds paper — this is one of the highest instantaneous loads the battery sees during normal use. On a degraded original cell, that spike causes the terminal voltage to sag below the BMS threshold, triggering a soft reset mid-transaction. A fresh 2000mAh cell at full charge handles the printer draw without dropping below the 6.0V cutoff. If the terminal resets only during printing, the battery is the first thing to replace, not the printer hardware.
Terminal not powering on after sitting unused in a drawer
Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. A Nurit 3010 left unused for several months can have a cell voltage too low for the BMS to start the boot sequence. Connect the terminal to its dock or charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to raise the cell above approximately 5.5V before it will permit startup. If the terminal still shows no response after a 20-minute trickle, leave it on charge for a full two-hour cycle, then retry.
