This 3.7V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Verizon Ellipsis 8, Ellipsis Kids, Ellipsis Kids LTE, and QTAQZ3 tablets. It matches OEM part numbers MLP36100107 and SQU-1408. The cell sits at 122.50 x 98.00 x 3.50mm — same footprint as the factory pack.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the QTAQZ3 board. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through CC/CV stages cleanly at both 5V standard and USB-PD input.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated against the old cell — this single full cycle resets it against the new one and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately post-installation.
Ellipsis 8 shutting down at 15–25% remaining
When the display and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously, the combined load causes a sharp voltage sag near the lower end of the discharge curve. If the BMS reads the sag as a hard undervoltage event, it trips and shuts the tablet down before the percentage counter reaches zero. This happens with degraded original cells but can also occur temporarily with a new replacement before the fuel gauge recalibrates. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that, the gauge reads the actual voltage floor of the new cell, and early shutdowns stop.
Fast charging not available after battery swap on the Ellipsis 8
USB-PD negotiation and proprietary fast-charge protocols require the charge IC to complete at least one accepted full charge cycle before the tablet enables higher-wattage input. Immediately after a battery swap, the device often defaults to standard 5V/1A charging until that handshake is established. Plug into the original Verizon charger — not a generic cable — and let the tablet charge fully to 100% without interruption. After that first complete cycle, fast charging resumes at the normal rate.
