Verizon Smarthub Router / MBHA10 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-MGM0110)
This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replacing OEM part BP-MGM0110. It fits the Verizon Smarthub Router (MBHA10), a mobile hotspot unit that delivers portable Wi-Fi over cellular networks. Without a functional battery, the Smarthub cannot operate untethered from a power outlet.
- Smarthub / MBHA10 fit: Both model designations reference the same hardware platform. They share the same battery bay connector, cell voltage, and BMS handshake protocol — one replacement covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the battery under combined modem and Wi-Fi radio load. The BMS held stable cutoff voltage under multi-device draw and responded correctly to the Smarthub's charge controller at full termination.
- Ventilation during extended hotspot sessions: When the Smarthub is far from connected devices, the cellular radio runs at maximum output power. Keep the unit on a hard, flat surface — not a couch cushion or bag pocket — to let heat dissipate away from the cell.
Why the Smarthub drops connected devices mid-session after a battery swap
When multiple devices connect simultaneously, the combined draw from the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio spikes sharply. If the replacement cell has a higher internal resistance than expected, voltage sags briefly below the Smarthub's stability threshold, triggering a soft reset of the radio stack. This appears to connected devices as a sudden disconnection. Verify the battery contacts are clean and fully seated — any resistance at the connector compounds the sag.
Smarthub won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per month under normal storage conditions. If the Smarthub sat unused for an extended period, the cell may have dropped below the BMS minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V. The BMS locks out discharge to protect the cell, so the unit shows no signs of life even when the power button is held. Connect the Smarthub to a wall charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on; this allows the charger to push enough voltage into the cell for the BMS to exit lockout.
