This is a 3.8V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original TLi017C2 battery in the Vodafone Smart Speed 6 (VF-795). It fits the same slot, uses the same connector, and works with the phone's existing charge controller. Capacity is rated at 6.84Wh.
- Smart Speed 6 / VF795 fitment: The VF-795 uses a fixed 3.8V nominal rail with a five-pin flex connector tied to the BMS. Any replacement cell must match that voltage and present the correct thermistor resistance to the charge IC — this cell does both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a VF-795 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the handshake on first connect, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV phases, and no false temperature fault codes were triggered.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle before resuming normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Smart Speed 6 after a cell swap
The VF-795 fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell after a swap. When the new cell hits the voltage range where the old cell used to collapse, the IC can misread remaining capacity and signal a shutdown — even though real charge remains. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell's curve.
Phone reports wrong battery percentage after replacement
The Smart Speed 6 stores a learned discharge profile in the fuel gauge IC from the previous cell. A new 1800mAh cell presents a different internal resistance and a steeper voltage curve near full charge — so the IC reads incorrectly from the first boot. The fix is straightforward: charge to 100%, let the phone drain to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% uninterrupted. After that full cycle, percentage reporting stabilises within a few percent of actual charge.
