This 3.7V 2700mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces OEM part 306998P in the Voltcraft BS-1000T and BS-1500T thermal imaging cameras. It powers both the thermal detector array and the onboard display during building diagnostics, electrical panel inspections, and temperature surveys. Flat-cell form factor matches the original 63.00 × 50.00 × 7.30mm footprint exactly.
- BS-1000T and BS-1500T compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. One battery fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a BS-1000T unit. The BMS responded correctly to both the detector heating element draw and the simultaneous display load — no false overcurrent trips at either stage.
- Post-storage power-on procedure: If the battery has been stored for more than 60 days, charge it to 100% before inserting it into the camera. A partially discharged Li-Polymer cell in this voltage range can trigger the camera's low-voltage cutoff before the detector has time to stabilise, causing an immediate shutdown on first power-on.
Thermal camera shutting down mid-inspection on a new battery
The BS-1000T draws current from two simultaneous loads: the thermal detector's resistive heating element and the colour LCD display. At peak combined draw, this can push the instantaneous current high enough to trigger the BMS overcurrent threshold — particularly during the first few minutes after power-on when the detector is still climbing to operating temperature. A replacement cell with a marginal BMS or elevated internal resistance will trip here even if the state of charge reads full. This cell's BMS was rated and tested against that combined load without triggering a false cutoff.
Thermal accuracy degrading before the battery indicator shows low
The BS-1000T's thermal detector is voltage-sensitive — measurement accuracy starts drifting before the battery voltage drops far enough to trigger the low-battery icon on screen. The display and camera firmware can continue operating normally at voltages where the detector is no longer reading within specification. If spot temperatures look inconsistent or the image baseline shifts during an inspection, check the battery voltage directly at the contacts with a multimeter. A healthy cell under load in this camera should read above 3.5V — below that threshold, recharge before continuing measurements.
