This happens because the gauge reads resting voltage while the detector responds to voltage under active draw. A battery with aged or mismatched cells shows a larger gap between resting and loaded voltage, so the display stays green while accuracy is already compromised. When inspection results look inconsistent but the battery appears charged, check loaded voltage with a meter — it should hold above 3.5V under the camera's normal operating draw.
