Cintiq Companion 2 shutting down at 15–25% remaining
The DTH-W1300 runs a high-resolution display and active digitiser simultaneously. Under combined display, Wi-Fi, and pen input load, current draw spikes fast enough to collapse a degraded or uncalibrated cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage gauge catches up. This makes the tablet shut off well above what looks like a safe charge level. Fitting a fresh cell solves the voltage sag, but you still need one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle to anchor the fuel gauge. After calibration, the OS percentage and actual cutoff point align correctly.
Battery percentage jumping or reading incorrectly after a swap
The Cintiq Companion 2 fuel gauge IC stores calibration data tied to the original cell's charge curve. When you install a new cell, the IC is still referencing the old curve, so reported percentage drifts — it may jump from 40% to 80%, or drop suddenly under light load. This is not a fault in the replacement battery. Run one full cycle: discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. The fuel gauge IC resets its reference points against the new cell, and percentage reporting stabilises from that point forward.
