The monitor uses this cell to sustain portable operation through blood pressure measurement, SpO2, temperature, and pulse assessment cycles.

The Spot Monitor's BMS compares resting cell voltage against a threshold calibrated to an aged OEM cell's charge profile. Monitor will not power on after battery sat in storage
Sealed lead-acid cells self-discharge at roughly 3–5% per month. A cell that has sat in a warehouse loses enough voltage to fall below the monitor's BMS recovery threshold — the device sees the cell as deeply discharged and blocks startup to prevent damage. Connect the monitor to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of 12 hours before attempting to boot. Once the cell recovers above approximately 5.8V, the BMS will re-enable the startup sequence.
