Why the Fimi Palm battery indicator reads incorrectly after a cell swap
The Fimi Palm tracks remaining capacity by mapping voltage thresholds against a stored discharge curve. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than a worn factory cell, so the camera's voltage readings land at different points on that curve. This causes the indicator to jump — showing 80% one moment and 40% the next. One full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera recalibrates the threshold mapping and stabilises the readout.

This happens when the cell's resting voltage sits just below the camera's wake threshold after shipping — typically under 3.5V per cell in a discharged storage state. The BMS interprets this as a depleted or fault cell and refuses to boot. Connect the Fimi Palm to its charger for 10–15 minutes before powering on; once the cell voltage climbs above the wake threshold (approximately 3.6V per cell, 7.2V combined), the camera will recognise the battery and start normally.
