This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original 18650-1S2P cell pack in the XTOOL InPlus IK618 Automotive Key Programmer. The IK618 is a handheld diagnostic scanner used for car key programming, immobilizer functions, and vehicle diagnostics. When the original cell degrades and the unit no longer holds charge, this battery restores full operation.

Why the IK618 won't boot after a battery swap
A freshly installed replacement battery ships at a storage charge — typically 30–50% state of charge. The IK618 boot firmware checks cell voltage before allowing the system to initialise, and a cell sitting below roughly 3.4V will cause the unit to appear dead or show a blank screen. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the scanner. Plug into the supplied charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on, and the unit will boot normally once the cell clears the threshold.
Wireless connection dropping mid-session on the IK618
The IK618's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules draw a spike of current each time they transmit data to a vehicle ECU or the XTOOL cloud. When the battery is aged or partially discharged, that current spike causes a voltage sag that the wireless controller reads as a power fault and resets the link. Users see this as a sudden disconnection mid-programming or mid-diagnostic pull — sometimes corrupting the active session. Keeping the battery above 50% charge during active wireless sessions prevents the sag from crossing the reset threshold.
