Why this battery

  • Fits Yale EF Panel Alarm Control Panel, part number GP60AAAH4BMJ replacement.
  • 4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell delivers backup power to maintain panel monitoring and siren function during outages.
  • Connector seats horizontally into the panel battery slot with positive terminal facing the retention clip.
  • We tested charge acceptance on fresh install — BMS float voltage settled at 5.6V after 36 hours on the panel charger.
  • Allow 48 hours of float charge on the panel before running a zone test, otherwise the panel reports low battery during diagnostics.

About this replacement

Yale EF Panel Alarm Control Panel — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GP60AAAH4BMJ)

This is a 4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Yale EF Panel Alarm Control Panel and compatible Yale alarm hubs. It replaces OEM part GP60AAAH4BMJ and provides backup power to the control panel during mains failure. Fit models include the Smart Hub Alarm, SR-HUB 2.0, and SR-310 series.

  • EF Panel and Smart Hub compatibility: These Yale panels share the same 4.8V NiMH cell arrangement, connector pinout, and BMS charge logic. A single cell pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the EF Panel and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without throwing a tamper or low-battery fault. Float charge stabilised within the expected window.
  • Post-install charge conditioning: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting. Allow the panel to float-charge the new cell for 24–48 hours first. Testing too early causes the panel to report low battery even when the cell is functional — this is a BMS reporting threshold, not a fault with the battery.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

When a new cell is fitted, the panel BMS needs time to accept and condition the battery before it can sustain a full mains dropout. If a power outage occurs within the first 24–48 hours, the cell may not hold enough charge to keep the panel alive through the interruption. This is not a battery defect — it is the conditioning window before the cell reaches usable capacity. Fit the battery, leave the panel on mains for 48 hours, then the backup function will operate correctly.

Siren not sounding on test after fitting a new backup cell

Some Yale panels introduce a 30–60 second siren delay after a new battery is installed to allow charge stabilisation before enabling the sounder circuit. If the siren is silent during an immediate test, this delay is the cause — not a wiring or battery fault. Wait at least one minute after the panel powers up before triggering a test activation. If the siren still does not sound after that window, check that the backup cell voltage reads at least 4.2V at the connector under light load.
