This 7.4V Li-ion battery replaces the Zebra P1026078 pack in the EZ320 handheld barcode scanner. It delivers 1200mAh (8.88Wh) of capacity to keep the scanner active through pick-and-pack shifts and inventory cycles. The EZ320 is used in retail and warehouse environments where scanner downtime directly stalls operations.
- EZ320 compatibility: The EZ320 uses a proprietary connector and BMS handshake tied to the P1026078 voltage profile. This pack matches that 7.4V nominal rail so the scanner firmware accepts it without throwing a battery fault on boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-trigger inrush events and wireless polling loads simultaneously. The BMS held voltage steady and did not trip the low-voltage cutoff under combined draw conditions.
- First-shift preparation: After installing the new pack, seat the EZ320 in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before use. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips at the start of the first shift.

Cradle charging errors on a fresh pack are almost always a contact resistance problem, not a faulty battery. Dock contacts on high-use cradles accumulate oxidation and grime that block the charge handshake signal. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle slot with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the contacts were the cause — not the pack.
Scanner loses wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The EZ320 fires the imager and transmits data over wireless in near-simultaneous events during rapid scanning. That combined inrush — scan trigger plus radio transmit — pulls a short current spike that a degraded or deeply discharged pack cannot sustain without voltage sag. When voltage sags below the wireless module's operating floor, the connection drops. Keep the pack above 30% charge during high-frequency scan sessions to stay clear of that threshold.
