Zebra MC22 Replacement Battery - Replaces BT-00418

$60.25In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Zebra MC2200, MC2700, MC2180, MC220J mobile computers; replaces OEM part BT-00418.
  • 3.7V, 3300mAh lithium-ion cell delivers consistent power output for full-shift barcode scanning and wireless data transmission without mid-shift sag.
  • Connector slots into standard Zebra cradle dock with keyed alignment; locking tab seats flush against scanner frame.
  • We bench-tested this cell across rapid scan burst cycles with simultaneous wireless polling; BMS held stable through peak inrush without cutoff.
  • After installation, run a full charge cycle in the cradle before beginning pick-and-pack operations — the MC2200 scan trigger draws peak current near minimum voltage and a fully charged cell prevents false BMS shutdowns on first shift.

About this replacement

Zebra MC2200 / MC2700 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT-00418)

This is a 3.7V, 3300mAh Li-ion battery for the Zebra MC2200, MC2700, MC2180, and MC220J mobile computers. These handheld barcode scanners are used in retail, warehouse, and asset-tracking workflows where the scanner runs continuously across full shifts. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification — part number BT-00418.

  • MC2200 and MC2700 platform compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The MC2200 and MC2700 are hardware variants on the same chassis — one battery pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on an MC2200 unit and cycled through scan-burst sequences while monitoring the BMS response. The protection circuit handled the combined imager and radio inrush without false cutoff.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack use: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before taking it onto the floor. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near its minimum — starting the first shift with a fully charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping on that initial surge during a heavy pick run.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging cradles on the MC2200 communicate with the battery over the dock contacts before the charge current starts. If those contacts have oxidation, dust, or residue from a previous battery, the dock reads elevated resistance and flags a fault rather than beginning the charge cycle. This is not a fault with the new pack. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the error clears in most cases.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The MC2200 draws from the same cell for both the imager and the Wi-Fi radio simultaneously. During rapid scan sequences, the combined inrush can pull the cell voltage low enough that the radio drops its association before the BMS trips. This shows as the scanner going offline mid-session rather than powering off completely. If this happens on a pack that is not fully charged, top up the cell to 4.2V before the next shift — a full cell handles the combined draw without the voltage sag that knocks out the radio.
