Low battery alarm on the ATS 2000 immediately after a confirmed full charge
The ATS BMS holds a chemistry threshold calibrated to OEM cell behaviour. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the BMS reads state-of-charge conservatively and may trip the low-battery alarm even at full capacity. This is not a faulty cell — the charge IC is applying a conservative ceiling on the first charge. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold and the alarm clears.
ATS handpiece fails to power on after battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the resting voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the ATS BMS enters protective lockout and blocks power delivery entirely. The device will show no response — no display, no motor activation. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power the handpiece. Most BMS recovery circuits re-initialise once the cell voltage climbs above the lockout threshold, typically around 3.0V per cell.
