Zjiang ZJ-8001 / ZJ-5802 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (58LYDD-Z)
This is a 7.4V 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Zjiang ZJ-8001 and ZJ-5802 portable thermal printers. It replaces OEM part 58LYDD-Z and fits both models directly. Use it in retail, logistics, and hospitality wherever the original battery no longer holds a charge.
- ZJ-8001 and ZJ-5802 compatibility: Both models run the same 7.4V power rail, use the same connector pinout, and share the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through the ZJ-8001 print cycle under load. The BMS held a stable discharge curve across paper feed motor actuation and thermal head activation without triggering low-voltage cutoff.

The paper feed motor draws a brief current spike on each feed cycle — running those prints lets the BMS confirm its current profile against the new cell before live use.
Why the ZJ-8001 refuses to print after sitting unused for weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the ZJ-8001 sits long enough, the battery voltage drops below the minimum the BMS will release for motor drive — typically around 6.0V on a 7.4V nominal cell. The printer powers on but the feed motor and thermal head receive no current. A full charge cycle restores the cell above the BMS release threshold and normal printing resumes.
Faded or uneven print output on a charged battery
The thermal print head on the ZJ-8001 needs a stable voltage to reach consistent operating temperature across the full print width. A worn or partially degraded cell causes voltage sag mid-print, which drops head temperature unevenly and produces pale or banded output. This is not a paper or head calibration issue — it is a cell capacity problem. Swap to a new battery and verify open-circuit voltage reads 8.2–8.4V before printing.
