ZOLL AED Pro / E Series / R Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (8019-0535-01)
This is a 10.8V, 5800mAh lithium-ion battery pack for the ZOLL AED Pro, R Series, and E Series defibrillators. It replaces OEM part numbers 8019-0535-01 and 8888869. These are clinical-grade AEDs used in emergency cardiac care — the battery must pass the device's internal self-test before it is cleared for use.
- AED Pro, R Series, and E Series compatibility: These models share the same 10.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery pack covers all three platforms without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the ZOLL power-on self-test sequence. The BMS negotiated correctly with the device charge IC, and the self-test completed without a fault flag on the first full charge cycle.
- Post-installation self-test requirement: After fitting this battery, allow the AED to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. ZOLL defibrillators run a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a persistent battery fault that does not clear until the device completes a full reboot cycle.
Why the AED Pro flags a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
ZOLL defibrillators apply a chemistry-calibration threshold during self-test. A new cell that has not completed at least one full charge-discharge cycle can read as marginal against this threshold, even at 100% state of charge. The device's charge IC logs this as a battery health warning rather than a capacity warning. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before placing the unit back in service — this allows the BMS to update its internal capacity baseline and clear the fault flag.
AED will not power on after battery sat in storage
Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If a replacement pack has been on a shelf for several months, its resting voltage may drop below the ZOLL BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9.0V for a 10.8V nominal pack. Below this threshold the device refuses to boot as a protective measure. Connect the battery to a known-good ZOLL charger and allow a slow recovery charge of at least two hours before attempting to power the unit on. If the charger LED does not respond within 30 minutes, check resting cell voltage directly — a reading below 8.5V indicates the pack requires a controlled pre-charge recovery step before normal charging can begin.
