The PM7000D is a compact clinical vital signs monitor — continuous operation depends on a functioning battery.
- PM7000D battery bay fit: The PM7000D uses a 4S Li-ion configuration at 14.8V nominal. This cell pack matches that voltage rail and the physical connector orientation. The BMS on the PM7000D handshakes with the pack during the power-on self-test — a mismatched voltage or connector will prevent the device from booting past that check.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the PM7000D power-on sequence and monitored BMS communication during startup. The self-test passed, charge acceptance was normal, and the charge IC brought the pack to full capacity without triggering a fault flag.
- Post-installation startup protocol: After fitting this battery, let the PM7000D complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification cycle at boot — cutting power during this sequence writes a false battery fault to the system log that persists until the next complete reboot.
PM7000D self-test failure after battery swap
The PM7000D performs a BMS learn cycle check on every boot. A new cell pack has not yet completed a full charge-discharge cycle, so the BMS may flag it as outside the expected state-of-charge window. This shows as a self-test failure or battery fault on the screen. Run one complete charge from flat to full before using the monitor in a clinical context — this allows the BMS to map the cell's actual capacity curve and clear the fault condition.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on the first charge
On the first charge, the PM7000D's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an uncharacterised new cell — this is expected behaviour, not a fault. The indicator may hold at 95–98% for an extended period before the IC confirms the cell is balanced across all four series groups. Do not interrupt the charge. Once the cell completes that first full cycle, subsequent charges will reach 100% at the normal rate. If the indicator never reaches 100% after three full cycles, check that the pack is seated fully and the contacts are clean.
